Meet the 2026 Grantees

The Rooted Grants program supports hubs and collectives doing the hard, beautiful work of building local markets from the ground up. Without further ado, meet our next grantee!

Chester County Flower Collective

Based out of Phoenixville, PA

Established in 2026, Chester County Flower Collective launched into its very first wholesale season this year, bringing together five flower farms across Southern Pennsylvania, along with a hub director who spent a decade running her own flower farm before stepping into this role. 

CCFC is supplying florists, event designers, and wholesale partners across the region, distributing out of Phoenixville. Their guiding principle tells you exactly what kind of hub this is:  quality over quantity, collaboration over competition.

Their Mission

CCFC's mission centers on growing exceptional flowers with integrity, seasonality, and a deep respect for place. They champion flowers grown close to home, harvested at their peak, and handed off to designers still carrying the character of the soil they came from. 

Their four stated values are:

1. Boost the local economy with a domestically grown alternative to imported flowers. 
2. Embrace seasonality with minimal inputs.
3. Use sustainable and organic practices.
4. And in their own words, "grow the best damn flowers, so florists can trust local product and impress their clients."

The Team

CCFC is member-owned, and each farm contributes both unique specialty crops and select overlapping products. That combination gives designers consistency and variety at the same time — reliable staples every week alongside the harder-to-find stems that make an arrangement sing.

The farms:

• Hickory Grove Gardens — Julia Bull's five-acre operation, home to eight unheated high tunnels and a specialty in spring and fall production, hosts the collective.
• Flores Temporis — SeJean Tuma's farm, in its ninth season and known for garden roses, fritillaria, specialty peonies and dahlias, bearded iris, and floral treasures for events.
• Liberty Plants — a one-acre farm in Trappe, focused on unique perennials, seasonal blooms, and foliage, growing thoughtfully and sustainably since 2016.
• Pasture Song Farm — Clara Osborne and Jeremy Dunphy's family farm grows ranunculus, anemones, colibri poppies, and dahlias using organic methods.
• Foxfield Flowers — an organic flower farm on Foxfield Farm in Phoenixville and a division of the nonprofit Camphill School. In addition to growing, Foxfield provides social and job-training opportunities to young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Rounding out the group is hub manager Amanda, whose path to flowers took the scenic and perhaps nontraditional route. She launched Seven Stems Flowers in 2011 — first as a floral design studio, then as a working flower farm supplying her own studio and wholesale customers. After stepping away from farming in 2024, she partnered with Julia Bull to make CCFC real.

Becoming a Rooted Grantee

When we asked the team what the grant means for the cooperative, Julia's answer said it all:

"I'm thrilled to be a part of the Chester County Flower Collective! Our growers each have over a decade of experience producing high-quality wholesale stems. Rooted Farmers simplifies the sales process and offers incredible analytics tools. We are honored to have been awarded the 2026 Rooted Farmers Growing Roots Grant and are excited to use these funds to help get our collective up and running!"

We couldn't be more excited to be walking alongside CCFC as they journey through their first season. It has been lovely to watch this new hub with so much experience behind it thrive collectively, and southeastern Pennsylvania is lucky to have them.
