LocaLife Flowers is a one-woman flower farm and design studio in the mountains of northern Santa Cruz County, CA. I cultivate about 1/2 an acre of a diverse range of cutting flowers & foliage, including specialty Narcissus and an evolving collection of Peonies and Roses. In addition, I steward 11 acres of mixed Redwood/Oak forest, where I selectively harvest foliage as an integrated part of wildfire fuel reduction. My approach to farming is informed by over 20 years working in organic and biodynamic horticulture/agriculture. In addition to farming, I create a variety of products from flowers I grow and dry, as well as from photographs I take on the farm and in the forest. In my "spare time," I homeschool my teenage son, read and write voraciously, and, occasionally, I sleep.
